Miami Beach Baywalk is now open from 5th
Street all the way up to
Lincoln Road, just in time
Miami Swim Week coming July 20-23, 2013,
means the Baywalk will see it's share of bikinis
parading up and down Biscayne Bay.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony which was attended by
Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Gongora, Miami
Beach City Manager
Jimmy L. Morales opens the newest
section of the Baywalk and allows visitors to access
to all the
shopping Lincoln Road
has to offer.
The new Baywalk section is one more part of Miami Beach's
proposed Atlantic Greenway Network which will
ultimately provide a system of interconnected
bicycle and pedestrian facilities that encircles the
island. The existing Miami Beach Boardwalk will
eventually be replaced by a new hard-surfaced
pathway similar to what now exists along Ocean Drive
up to 23rd Street behind many of the city's top hotels.
